Shem (age eight) just ran down the starts with his Halloween candy: “Is Jon Stewart on?”
We are ready.
I’ll be about.
Enjoying the Roots…though probably better live. I am watching on C-Span. Even more nerdy that way.
Hey, John. Welcome to the poor man’s version of the rally.
Watching the CNN feed. Is it just me or is the Roots/Legend combo more up uplifting than the MoTab during GC?
The song Dear God that they are singing is my new favorite hymn.
I have added the schedule to the original post.
my little bro who lives in virginia is at the event, and a couple friends of mine in utah flew out to it. jealous.
I like the Roots.
I made a MoTab reference to the pre-show concert. My wife thinks that is going too far. She is right. This is much better.
Sign: “I doubt this sing will change your opinion.”
the myth busters….
The Mythbusters? Okay.
omg.. that’s a long wave
I’m about 40 minutes behind on the DVR. The Roots are amazing. Never heard them before. I guess I gotta go check them out on iTunes.
When does Sarah speak? . . .
seismologists FTW

stephen is too funny.
Will have to use the bunker/cave segment when teaching Plato’s Cave.
Guy, maybe Sarah Silverman.
this is too brilliant
The CC feed just went down. Anyone else?
Nevermind.
Sam Waterson is great. I like that it opened with a prayer. hehe
Hey, Tracy!
Islamic propaganda at the rally to restore sanity!
Good thing Stephen put a stop to it.
OZZZZZY!!!!!!!
a peace train and a crazy train. very cool
OZZIE!!!!!
English propaganda at the rally to restore sanity!
i mean… OZZZYYYY!!!
This may be more spiritual than political after all.
Nothing says Faith-Promoting Rumor like that song Love Train.
Well so far they are beating down the critics who said Stewart couldn’t pull this off without being partisan or just comedy.
Well, at least we know Ozzy wasn’t lip-synching.
Tracy, please do not speak rudely about the performance of general authorities.
Hey, that was compliment, CH! 😉
Oh, that’s right. I am just sensitive to bloggernacle snark. Hehe.
Nice shot at NPR. I thought maybe Juan WIlliams would come out.
PK Winsome for a low point so far.
#42 agreed.
I hope they teach this in the elementary schools.
Their folk song duet that is.
There is no one more American than John C.
the song is the high point so far.
colberts lines in that song were great.
I LOVE these two men. Love them.
I usually am not a fan of nationalism, but that duet gave me goosebumps.
Cactus Jack!
Mankind!
Kid Rock?
I didn’t know Kid Rock played the piano.
I am not a Kidd Rock fan…but this is not his normal routine.
Kid Rock has been a huge GOP supporter, performing for many GOP events. Sheryl Crow, the opposite.
I actually really like Kidd Rock- if you get past his persona he’s incredibly involved in service and the USO.
the least i can do is care…very nice
I do like that picture duet with the two of them. Otherwise, I can’t stand his music.
This ain’t bad, tho.
I hope the music chairs in the wards throughout the Church are paying close attention for some new Sacrament musical numbers.
Actually this is alot of what Kidd Rock has been doing for a while. HIs more recent stuff is alot like this.
Look how reasonable we are about Kidd Rock…I am getting warm fuzzes.
“Mr Gorbachev, I paid for this microphone”….Awesome
This will have to work into a Hobbes unit someday.
Star Trek reference…officially a nerdfest.
Are the Trekkies going to go ape, or what?
Kareem…that was awesome.
OH now Cylons! They’re playing to their audience!
Ozzy, Kareem, Stewart, Colbert, and R2D2. This is totally my kind of rally.
nerdgasm
I think this is why the media reacts so negatively towards Stewart/Colbert. There central message is that the media is freaking stupid.
Lots of Olderman and Ed Schultz in the crazy meddly.
It’s hard to take the counterpoint to that message, CH.
Take that media!
Remote Control montage…
My kids liked the poop shout out.
Thoughts of the rally as it winds down?
Jon Stewart’s greatest moment.
“We work to get things together every damn day”
Mormon Jay-Z fan! He saw me!
“Mormon Jay-Z fan.” I think he’s referring to my last mission companion.
Mormonism shout out!
Who is Jay-Z?
Oh Chris.

toll plaza as the essential home of America. Spoken like a dude from New Jersey
Perfect ending
As somebody who grew up around the beltway…I connected to the traffic.
I think I have been more spiritually fulfilled than I have from any GC I can remember.
Though to be fair, it’s hard to be fulfilled by anything 10 hours long.
Tony bennet. This is most patriotic I have felt since Election Day ’08.
Loyd, I think this is what Rousseau meant by civic religion, though we are all liberals.
I had not planned on watching this, feeling that it would just be some comedians making light of the problems we are facing, but I turned on the TV and Jon Stewart was speaking. Loved how centrist he was, that accusing each other of being too far left or too far right isn’t how we live our lives. Outstanding.
Comedy Central just cut off.
I miss haning out with friends…you all are the best.
My kids watched most of it with me. I am a happy man.
Sally, I really liked that part, too.
Chris, thanks for putting this together.
way cool . . .
that was an excellent rally and Jon Stewart put together smart thoughts to rap it all up.
